Global Mangrove Alliance 2019 Workshop

January 15 - 17 in Washington, DC

The second workshop of the Global Mangrove Alliance will bring together over 80 mangrove experts from 15 partner and associate organizations to discuss future mangrove conservation opportunities and strategies. Participants will brave the cold to gather in the World Wildlife Fund-US headquarters in Washington, DC.

Topics will include reviewing the GMA vision and conservation targets, understanding barriers and opportunities for collaboration within and beyond the Alliance, and identifying challenges that members are facing. Ultimately, we will form strategic global priorities to build on our shared strengths and goals.

New participating organizations and agencies include NASA, Scripps, Restore America’s Estuaries, Cinvestav, and Pew.

Several sessions will be devoted to getting to know other GMA colleagues and where they are working. By visually identifying where partners operate, we will highlight potential opportunities for collaboration in specific regions and gaps in geography for new work or partnerships.
