Jason is the Executive Director of the WCS Marine Program. He has nearly 30 years of experience in management, law, policy and finance, working internationally and domestically, in public and private sectors.  He currently oversees the Wildlife Conservation Society’s global marine conservation portfolio across 25 countries, including work on mangroves in Indonesia, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Melanesia. Jason has specialized in natural resource governance, advancing laws and policies to manage natural resources and endangered species sustainably for the benefit of local communities and in the face of changing political systems. Jason has worked on both sides of the U.S. Capitol, as Deputy Staff Director for the House Science Committee and as Majority Counsel for the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, as well as in the Office of General Counsel for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.  A Fulbright Senior Scholar in 2000, he received his JD from Cornell University School of Law and his BA from Haverford College.
