Emily has a professional background is in ecological research, coastal resources management, and conservation advocacy, and she has studied and conducted research in India, the Caribbean, Latin America, and South Africa. She has worked on a number of research projects ranging from sloth behaviour in Costa Rica to analyses of the great white shark cage-diving industry in South Africa, and recently spent three years with the local government in Miami concentrating on issues of urban coastal resource management, development, and sea level rise adaptation plans. Most recently she worked on U.S. national marine monument and sanctuary advocacy with Marine Conservation Institute in Washington, D.C. Emily received her B.A. in ecology and environmental biology from Dartmouth College.
