Ali Raza Rizvi has over 20 years of experience promoting environmental conservation and human well-being. He has been with IUCN since 1994, initially in Asia and now with the Global Ecosystem Management Programme in Washington, DC. Ali has held different portfolios, including Regional Group Head, Ecosystems and Livelihoods Group in Asia, and Head of the Climate Change & Resilience Programme. He has led a team of international experts working on various thematic areas: biodiversity & species, coastal & marine, environmental economics, and disaster risk reduction. He has experience managing projects in the fields of integrated coastal zone management, poverty reduction, disaster management, and climate change.
